What is this project all about?

Churches Conservation Trust is a national charity protecting historic churches at risk, preserving over 340 special buildings which attract more than 1.5 million visitors a year. They aim to make sure that the wonder and knowledge of this heritage remains open and accessible to all.

Based at Holy Trinity Church, you would help encourage access and engagement with York’s heritage and ancestry by producing an exhibition based around the theme of food and feasting through the ages. Designing educational materials accessible to visitors of all ages, the exhibition will bring to life our history within an ancient space.

The exhibition will be used within the church for an extended period, tying in with York’s Festival of Food. (16th – 25th September)

The aim of the project is to research the role of food and feasting from the medieval period to the 20th century. Create a “cook book”, educational materials for families, and culminating in an exhibition to be held at Holy Trinity 15th-22nd September.
